How many times a week should you exercise to lose weight?

Looking good and being healthy is a goal of almost everyone, regardless of age. Maintaining your weight or losing weight is always a concern. Everyone knows that regularly exercise is beneficial to our health, but everyone seems to have a different opinion on how many times per week you should do this and what should you expect.

First of all, everyone has a different rhythm and a different metabolism. There are people who can lose a few pounds per week by walking daily, while others will not lose a pound even in a month. You should not follow strict rules when it comes to losing weight; you have to find out what works best for you.

It depends more on the kind of exercise you do, not on the frequency. Let’s assume your entire workout routine is composed of 10 minutes of walking; even if you do this every day you will still not see a difference. In order to achieve your goals, you have to think about at least 40 minutes of working out per session and more if you want faster results.

Not everyone can work out every day. What seems to be a good rule is to exercise one day and pause on the second. The other alternative is to exercise hard one day for 40 minutes and do less strenuous exercise for 20 minutes on the second day. The general recommendation is to exercise three or four times per week to see results. Even so, make sure that you never push yourself over the limit and you don’t try to achieve a goal that is unrealistic. It is vital to feel good in your own skin and to understand what exercises you can do and how many and how often.
